2 projects of 96 thousand 400 hectares capacity sanctioned

Bhopal. A meeting of Major Projects Control Board chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today sanctioned 2 projects in Tikamgarh and Mandsaur districts. These projects will irrigate about 96 thousand 400 hectares.

At Bansujara project’s left bank main canal, reserve weir would be constructed and water will be taken to farmers’ fields under micro irrigation system through high pressure underground pipelines. This project will irrigate 75 thousand hectares in 211 villages in 3 tahasils of Tikamgarh district including Baldevgarh, Khargapur and Jatara. It will benefit 48 thousand families. Similarly, farmers’ fields will be irrigated under micro irrigation system by high pressure underground pipelines through lift irrigation from Gandhi Sagar dam and Rewa barrage. This project will irrigate 21 thousand 400 hectares in Bhanpura and Garoth tahasils of Mandsaur district.

Shrivastava, ACS Water Resources Shri R.S. Julaniya, ACS Narmada Valley Development Shri Rajneesh Vaish, Agriculture Production Commissioner Shri P.C. Meena and Secretary to CM Shri Hari Ranjan Rao attended the meeting.
