Add your name to Electoral roll, Survey starts from 15

Bhopal. Above than 18 years, but don’t have voter-id. Don’t worry; here is a chance for you. Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Bhopal is conducting Door-to-door survey in the state from April 15 to June 15.
There has been a gap of 40 lakh voters above 18 years of age in the voters’ lists according to state’s population as on January 5, 2012. Door-to-Door survey is being conducted to remove this gap by adding names of left out voters in the voters’ lists. Toll-free number 1950 of the State Electoral Office can be dialed for any information and any complaint pertaining to the electoral rolls.
Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Bhopal has informed that the work of adding names of left out eligible voters in electoral rolls is progressing smoothly in some districts whereas a few districts are lagging behind. The Chief Electoral Officer has asked collectors of these districts to add names of eligible voters to voters’ list within the prescribed time-limit.
The districts where 50 percent work of name addition has been accomplished include Jhabua (25 thousand), Khandwa (42 thousand), Umaria (eight thousand), Dindori (8,637) and Tikamgarh (35 thousand), Chhatarpur (25 thousand). The district where this work is not progressing as desired are Jabalpur (13 thousand 344 against target of two lakh), Neemuch (3,769 against target of 55 thousand), Sehore (5,729 against target of 76 thousand 997), Burhanpur (4,207 against target of 54 thousand), Guna (8,707 against target of 92 thousand), Shivpuri (10 thousand 499 against target of one lakh 10 thousand 604), Indore (18 thousand 200 against target of one lakh 22 thousand), Narsinghpur (7,500 against target of 61 thousand 534 and Bhind (12 thousand 500 against target of one lakh 228).
