Charges Framed against Shiney Ahuja in Rape Case
Clearing decks for his trail for allegedly raping his domestic help, a fast track court has framed charges of rape and criminal intimidation against Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, said media reports.
Ahuja was charged with raping his 20-year-old domestic aide at his Oshiwara residence on June 15 last year.
On Thursday, the court in Sewri framed charges against him under IPC sections 376 (rape), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
Pleading not guilty to the charges, Ahuja said that he was prepared to face trial, said reports.
The prosecution is to submit a list of witnesses and documents on the ground of which it will argue its case on March 6, said reports.
It may be mentioned that the Bombay High Court had earlier stayed the framing of charges as the actor had asked for copies of documents and forensic reports. Now that the copies have been given to him, the trial is all set to begin.
The actor was arrested on June 15 last year after his maid servant lodged a police complaint alleging rape.
