Ceasefire Violation: Pak Troops Injure BSF Jawan in Unprovoked Firing

Violating ceasefire once again, Pakistani troops opened fire on a forward post along the Indo-Pak border in Samba sector early in the morning, injuring one BSF jawan, said media reports.

According to BSF officials, Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked small arms firing on forward border post of Karotana-Manarain along the International Border in Samba sector, situated some 55 kms from Jammu, said reports.

Officials said that a BSF constable Krishna was injured in the firing which lasted continually for 30 minutes, reports said.

The officials said they would lodge a strong protest over the truce violation with their Pakistani counterparts at a flag meeting later in the day.

It may be mentioned that Pakistan has violated the ceasefire along the border for the tenth time this year. The last ceasefire violation took place on February 14 when Pakistani troops fired rockets on Indian posts along the LoC in Poonch sector.
