Cash-at-door-scam: Punjab Judge Absolved of Corruption Charges
In a case of the cash-at-door-scam, the Supreme Court Collegium has given a clean chit to justice Nirmal Yadav some 15 months after the case surfaced.
Nearly 15 months after the scam, Justice Nirmal Yadav of Punjab and Haryana High Court has been absolved of corruption charges labeled against her and now she is being transferred to Uttarakhand High Court.
It may be mentioned that Rs 15 lakh, alleged to be meant for Justice Nirmal Yadav, was delivered at the doorstep of another Punjab Judge Justice Nirmaljit Kaur.
The person who delivered the money was arrested and CBI took over the case.
Meanwhile Justice Yadav was asked to go on leave. CBI submitted its report to the government and it sought then AG Milon Banerjee’s opinion.
He had said that no case is made out against Justice Yadav.
