Cases against Quattrocchi to Be Formally Withdrawn on Oct 3
The cases against Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi in Bofors gun deal scam will be formally dropped on October 3 as the CBI is going to move an application before the Magistrate’s Court in Delhi on Saturday, said the Union Law Minister.
In an interview with a news agency, M Veerappa Moily said that the government has taken a decision for withdrawal of the cases and the Public Prosecutor, on behalf of the CBI, would move an application before the Magistrate’s Court on October 3.
The Minister, currently on visit to London at the invitation of the British Government, said that since a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) was pending before the Supreme Court, the Solicitor General thought it fit that it should be brought to the notice of the Apex Court.
