BSP MLA Faces UP Govt. Probe

The Bahujan Samaj Party state government in Uttar Pradesh Sunday ordered a probe into the resignation of a ‘dalit’ executive engineer, who accused a party legislator of extortion bids and threatening him, say reports citing officials.

“Principal Secretary (Irrigation) K S Atoria will conduct an inquiry into allegations leveled by engineer Shivdas against BSP MLA from Lakhna Bhimrao Ambedkar,” PTI news agency quoted a government spokesperson as saying.

The principal secretary will now summon the engineer and take complete details of the case so that the government could reach at a decision on the matter.
