BSF Seizes 15 kg Heroine at Indo-Pak Border

The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized around 15 kg of heroin from near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab’s Ajnala sector as suspected smugglers abandoned the consignment in the wake of an exchange of fire with forces on the Pakistani side, reported IANS.

BSF officials said that the exchange of fire with smugglers took place on the Pakistani side of the border, said report.

“No one was injured and no arrest has been made. The 15 kg heroin, one of the big seizures by the BSF, was recovered from near the DS Pura BOP (border outpost),” BSF’s Punjab frontier deputy inspector general (DIG) Jagir Singh was quoted as saying.

Report said that BSF also recovered a mobile phone without a SIM card form the spot where suspected smugglers abandoned drugs consignment.

“It is after a long time that the BSF has made such a big seizure in the Ajnala sector,” the DIG was quoted as saying.
