Blaming Narsimha Rao for Anderson’s Exit Is Wrong: Venkaiah Naidu

Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu has said that the party will raise Bhopal gas tragedy issue in Parliament and that it’s wrong to hold then home minister late PV Narsimha Rao responsible for UCC CEO Warren Anderson’s exit from India, said media reports.

“The party would raise the issue in Parliament and if necessary, it would insist to amend the act for providing adequate compensations to victims and to increase quantum of punishment to the accused,” Naidu was quoted as saying while talking to reporters during an interaction in Hyderabad.

“It is unfortunate and meaningless,” Naidu was quoted as saying when asked to react to reports that Rao was instrumental in granting safe passage to the Union Carbide CEO.

“It is totally unjustified and incorrect to blame late PV Narasimha Rao, as it could not have happened without the permission of the head of the government,” he was quoted as saying.
