BJP Divided, in an Identity Crisis: Congress
Reacting to reports of dissidence in the Karnataka unit of the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party, the Congress on Friday said the BJP was a divided house, going through an identity crisis.
“The BJP is a house divided. It is suffering from an identity crisis…” AICC spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told reporters in New Delhi.
She was reacting to queries over dissidence in the Karnataka BJP as rebel MLAs and ministers in the state demanded the replacement of Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa.
Natarajan, however, refused to comment on if the Congress would take the developments as an opportunity to form a government in the state.
“We would only like to add that the country is watching in dismay as the main Opposition party was disintegrating,” she said.
