BJP Flays Lalu for anti-RSS Remarks

Yet again flirting with controversy, RJD President and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Saturday termed the Rashtriya Swayansevak Sangh a band of “vyabhichari” (dissolute) persons, the remarks came in for immediate condemnation from the BJP

“These RSS people claim to be brahmachari (celibate) but are, in fact, vyabhichari (dissolute),” Lalu was quoted as saying by PTI.

Lalu and his better half – former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi – have time and again stirred political hornets, with their remarks against political opponents, since the commencement of the current poll season.

He was the first to invite EC ire over the infamous ‘crush-under-roller’ remark against Varun Gandhi while she took cue and lashed out at chief minister Nitish Kumar and Bihar JD(U) president Lalan Singh terming them each other’s ‘sala’ (brother-in-law).

Taking strong exception at Lalu’s anti-RSS tirade, BJP minority cell chairman Shahnawaz Hussain said the diatribe was rooted in his frustration that stemmed from a pro-NDA wave in the state.

“Everybody knows that RSS is an apolitical cultural organisation working for nation building,” said Hussain.

“I cannot use the same language to criticise him for making such derogatory remarks against a nationalist organisation,” he added.
