Avalanche in J&K, Six Dead, 12 Injured, 300 Feared Trapped
Nearly six persons have died, 10-12 severely wounded and around 300 are fear trapped in an avalanche in Jammu and Kashmir, reported NDTV.
Report said quoting Army sources that as many as 70 people have been rescued.
The avalanche occurred at 11 am on Monday at Khelanmarg near Gulmarg, said report.
Report said that an advance camp was organized by the Army’s High Altitude Warfare School at Gulmarg on Sunday in which 300 Army trainees, 100 trainers, 60 support staff and 50 civilians were present when the avalanche came down.
Rescue teams, both army and police, are reported to be on location, said report.
