Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh has said that Amar Singh, who stepped down from all party posts last week, will withdraw his resignation this time also, said reports.
“While being in the Samajwadi Party, Amar Singh had resigned three times and on each occasion, he had taken back his resignation,” Singh was quoted as saying by PTI.
Singh, however, declined to comment on Amar Singh’s political character and said that every leader did politics in his own way and Amar Singh was also doing the same.
Responding to a query about possibility of former SP general secretary’s joining Congress, he said that party president Sonia Gandhi took decisions on matters like this.
Without naming Amar Singh, Digvijay said that Congress was strong and it was not impacted by those who join or leave it.
He said that SP did not pursue the ideology of Ram Manohar Lohia these days arguing that Lohia detested glamour but the SP, which had become a party of film personalities and industrialists, had embraced glamour.
