Amandeep Murder, SIT Arrests Three Cops

The Jammu and Kashmir police Special Investigation Team (SIT) late on Sunday arrested three police officers, currently under suspension, in connection with the murder of former National Conference legislator Depinder Kaur’s son – Amandeep.

The three police officials, including SSP Jammu Manohar Singh, SHO Gandhi Nagar Police station Sultan Mirza and Sub-Inspector Satnam Singh.

The three were among the six police officers earlier suspended by the state government for alleged evidence tampering.

The state government had constituted a five-member SIT team headed by DIG (Jammu-Kathua) Farooq Khan to probe the murder and the role of the suspended police officers.

According to media reports, the SIT on Monday raided the SSP Singh’s residence and recovered some ‘important documents’.

The three officials have been sent into police custody for six days, the reports added.
