After Sena Threat, Rahul Arrives in Mumbai amid Tight Security

Amid Shiv Sena’s call for black flag demonstration against his visit, AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi has arrived in Mumbai under tight security and three sainiks have been detained after they tried to enter his itinerary venue, reported ANI.

Police said that Sena corporator, Rajul Patel, who was wearing a black sari, and two others were arrested when they were trying to get into the Bhaidas Hall in suburban Vile Parle without proper invite, said report.

Police said that they were taken to close-by police station, said report.

Security has been stepped up in the city in the wake of Sena chief Bal Thackeray’s call to show Rahul black flags to protest his remarks on Mumbai, said report.

Also, strict vigilance is being kept in Ghatkopar where the congress leader is scheduled to visit later in the day and have sanitised both the venues and adjoining areas, said report.

Police said that shops in the both areas remain closed and that several trouble makers were taken into custody last night as a preventive measure, said report.

It may be mentioned that this is Rahul’s maiden visit to the financial capital after he became the AICC General Secretary.
