Abdullah Asks Army to Fully Cooperate in Fake Encounter Case Probe

In connection with an alleged fake encounter by a Major, Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah has asked the Army to cooperate in the probe being conducted by state police, said media reports.

Abdullah reiterated his government’s commitment to zero tolerance to violations of human right as Commander of 15 Corps Lt Gen N C Marwah called on him, reports said.

General Marwah informed the chief minister of a high-level inquiry launched by the army in the case and assured full cooperation in investigation of state police, said reports.

An official spokesman said that the GOC 15 Corps assured Abdullah that the Army would cooperate fully with all investigating agencies or enquiries set up by the state government and assist them in reaching the truth, reports said.
