A Jaish-e-Mohammad Militant Gunned down in J&K

A top Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorism who masterminded Ayodhya attack has been shot dead by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, reported CNN-IBN.

Abu Dawood, reportedly a JeM divisional commander, was gunned down in a fierce gunfight with security forces that raged in Mendhar area of Poonch district, said report.

Report said citing police that Dawood was one of the strategic plotters of Ayodhya terror attacks.

“Abu Dawood was one of the main suspects behind the attack. There was no collateral damage as it was a well-planned encounter. He was brain behind a large number of terrorist activities in the region. He was involved in Ayodhya attack as well as involved in the 2008 Batidhar encounter in Jammu,” Jammu DIG SD Jambwal was quoted as saying.

He was operating in the region for the last 8-10 years.
