2-Year Ban Recommended for Gammon India
In its Action Taken Report submitted to Union Urban Development minister Jaipal Reddy, the four member expert committee of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has found Gammon India guilty of negligence and recommended a two year ban from construction for Gammon.
In the wake of the report, a show cause notice was issued to the construction giant in the regard. If Gammon India fails to reply to this notice, it will find itself in the GoI’s blacklist.
It may be mentioned that The DMRC had formed an enquiry committee after the an incident in South Delhi in which six persons were killed and over a dozen others injured when an under-construction over-bridge of the Delhi Metro collapsed.
As per the report, three DMRC engineers have also been suspended and the design consultants have been blacklisted for five years.
