Organic farming necessary for increase in agriculture production

Bhopal: Healthy atmosphere for farming has been created in Madhya Pradesh by conserving soil and freeing water sources from pollution. This is the reason that agriculture production has increased in the state, which is contributing in meeting food grains needs of country’s people. It is necessary that organic farming is adopted on a large scale for maintaining quality of food grains and keeping intact soil fertility. These conclusions were drawn at “Organic MP Session” on the first day of Global Investors Summit at Indore today.

Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajoria informed that farmers have to bear more cost of farming these days. Under such circumstances, organic farming method is the only way out for them. The state stands 10th in organic farming through which more yield can be taken by improving soil health.

Dr. Rajora informed that organic products of India are in much demand in Europe and America. Attack of caterpillar is minimized in soyabean crops when organic manure is used. Per hectare productivity has increased by 4 to 7 quintals through organic farming. Various other important information was also given during the session.

Former Director Agriculture Dr. G.S. Kaushal said that organic farming must be adopted to save ourselves from toxic food grains. Madhya Pradesh government has chalked out organic farming policy.

Executive Director of Aries Agro Limited Shri Rahul Mirchandani and Deputy General Manager of Murarka Organics Shri Bahveen Parmar also spoke on the occasion. Agriculture Production Commissioner Shri R.K. Swai and representatives of farmers were also present on the occasion.
