Two Bomb Blasts Rock Pak, 7 Killed in Punjab, 10 Injured in Peshwar
Within hours, two bomb blasts rocked Pakistan on Friday, the first one a suicide bomb strike in Punjab province near a strategic air force complex that killed seven people and the second in Peshawar outside a restaurant that wounded at least 10 persons.
According to eye witnesses, the explosion in Peshawar took place soon after a man parked a car outside the restaurant in Hayatabad area on the outskirt of the city, the capital of North West Frontier Province. The man, who had long hair, fled immediately after parking the car.
Reports said that injured were immediately take to hospitals and the condition of one of them was described as serious.
They said that the restaurant targeted in the attack belonged to the son of a senior leader of the Awami National Party, which is in power in NWFP and is part of the ruling coalition at the centre.
