Interpol Issues Red Corner Notices against Zarar Shah, Abu al-Qama for 26/11
Interpol has issued Red Corner Notices (RCNs) against two more 26/11 accused, hours after Pakistan rejected India’s sixth dossier on last year’s Mumbai terror attacks, said media reports citing sources.
Only yesterday, RCNs were issued against Lashkar-e-Taiba founder chief Hafiz Saeed and mastermind of Mumbai terror strike Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.
Citing sources, media reports said that the Interpol has issued notices to Zarar Shah and Abu al-Qama for their involvement in Mumbai terror attacks, in which over 180, including foreigners, were killed.
Earlier, sending proof, India had requested for a similar warrant against Lashker commander Zarar Shah and Abu Al Qama, in response to which the Interpol said that it was analyzing the evidence against them.
The Interpol’s notices comes following a Mumbai court’s order issuing non-bailable warrant against the LeT operatives for their role in the attacks.
UNSC has, in addition to Saeed and Lakhvi, declared these two top leaders of LeT– Haji Muhammad Ashraf and Zaki-ur-Bahaziq – as terrorists. India had sought a ban on JuD after LeT was blamed for the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
It may be mentioned that the United States had sought a ban on Lakhvi, operations leader of LeT, who is suspected to have planned the Mumbai attacks, Ashraf, a JuD financier, and Bahaziq, an India-born Saudi national who was suspected of collecting funds for the banned organisations in Saudi Arabia.
