Sarkozy Discharged from Hospital
French President Nicolas Sarkozy (54) was discharged from the Val de Grace military hospital on Monday; he was admitted to the facility yesterday after he collapsed while jogging. Doctors attributed his condition to heat and fatigue and prescribed him rest but no further medical treatment, his office said.
Dressed in a dark suit and tie, Sarkozy walked out of the hospital with his wife, declining comments to the media men waiting outside.
According to a statement released by the president’s office, no signs of irregular heartbeat or long-term consequences were found in the tests conducted on Sarkozy.
It added that doctors diagnosed the president with “lipothymic” discomfort due to overexertion at high temperatures.
