CM to unfurl flag on Independence Day at Bhopal

Bhopal: Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram reviewed preparations for Independence Day functions in the conference hall of Mantralaya here today. State-level function will be held on Independence Day-August 15 at state capital Bhopal’s Motilal Nehru Stadium at 9 am. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will unfurl the National Flag. He will read out a message for state’s people. The message will also be read out at district-level functions. Earlier, flag will be unfurled and National Song rendered at all offices of all heads of departments and educational institutions at 8 am. On the evening of Independence Day, playback singer Shri Abhijit and singer Sushri Alka Nigam will render patriot songs.

Chief Secretary Shri Parasuram directed to hold dignified Independence Day functions at State Capital Bhopal divisional, district and village levels. All freedom fighters, families of martyrs of Kargil war and MISA detainees of the state will be invited to State and district-level functions.
The Chief Secretary sought information about role of Bhopal divisional commissioner and various departments in organising programmes at Bhopal. He directed to ensure attractive decoration and illumination of government buildings on Independence Day. He directed senior officers to be present at the function.
Principal Secretary General Administration Shri K. Suresh informed that directives have been sent to ensure dignified Independence Day functions at State Capital Bhopal division, district and village levels. Educational institutions have been asked to hold cultural, literary and sports activities as well as plantation programme. It has also been directed to hold competitions of chorus singing of National Song at schools and colleges and Independence Run at district headquarters.
The meeting also discussed all necessary arrangements for Independence Day function, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri I.S. Dani, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Manoj Shrivastava and other concerning officers attended the meeting.
