CM for making efforts to build a drugs-free society

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the society should be made aware to build a drugs-free society. For social reform, it is necessary to make the general public aware of the harmful effects of drugs. Along with public awareness, publicity should also be promoted for the drug de-addiction.

Chouhan was addressing the review meeting of Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Department at Mantralaya on Wednesday. Animal Husbandry, Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Minister Prem Singh Patel, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and Principal Secretary Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Shri Prateek Hajela were present.

Chouhan said that UDID cards should be made for all the differently-abled. This will also be discussed in the Collectors’ conference. The construction of District Disabled Rehabilitation Center and Paid Old Age Home located at Bhopal should be completed within the time-limit. For their operation, such policies should be made so that the help of service-oriented institutions can be taken. Old age home and orphanage should be run in the same premises, to ensure emotional attachment and security.

The Chief Minister directed that identity certificates should be issued to all transgender persons. Kanya Vivah and Nikah Yojana must be given a new look.

It was informed in the meeting that according to the Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh roadmap, a mobile app is being developed to provide most of the services to the differently-abled and senior citizens. Out of the total 5 hostel buildings sanctioned for the differently abled in ITI institutions, Gwalior building has been completed. 75 percent construction work has been done in Ujjain and Rewa and 40 percent in Sagar, Jabalpur. The construction of these buildings will be completed by December 2022. Out of 8 special schools approved in the state Gwalior building has been completed, construction of buildings of remaining 7 special schools will also be completed by the end of December. It was informed that the construction of 11 old age homes with 50 seaters is in progress. 43 government buildings in Bhopal and 50 in Indore are being made barrier-free.

The construction of Paid Old Age Home building in Bhopal which is in progress, will be completed by July 2022. The construction of Directorate Building and State Rehabilitation Center which is its last phase will be completed by 30 January 2022. Verification of eligibility will be done by running a campaign in all pension schemes.
