Peshawar Rocked by Blast Again, 7 Dead

A day after suicide bombing in ISI headquarters, Pakistani city of Peshawar was again rocked with a bomb explosion on Saturday, this time at a security post at Peshawar Chowk.

At least seven people were reportedly killed, some of them policemen, and 15 other were injured in the explosion that took place near the entry point.

A number of damaged cars have been seen on the blast site. Army and security personnel have been deployed near the blast site.

It may be mentioned that on Friday, suicide car bombers killed 16 people and wounded more than 80 in two attacks in northwestern Pakistan, including a devastating strike on the regional headquarters of the spy agency overseeing much of the country’s anti-terror campaign.

The bombings were the latest in a string of attacks on security forces, civilians and Western targets since the government launched an offensive in mid-October against militants in the border region of South Waziristan, where al-Qaeda and Taliban leaders are believed to be hiding out.
