2016 to be celebrated as Poor Peoples Welfare Year

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that 2016 will be celebrated as Poor People’s Welfare Year. Apart from giving land possession rights to the poor, works to ensure farmers’ prosperity will also be undertaken during the year. The Chief Minister was holding dialogue with people at various villages of Maihar tahasil in Satna district today.

The Chief Minister said that during Poor People’s Welfare Year, possession will be given to traditional forest dwellers and SC, ST people on forest land occupied by them till December 2006. The Chief Minister said that dialysis machines will be made available in all district hospitals by January 26. Single-phase motor will be attached to handpump in drinking water problem-ridden villages. He said that Rs. 119 crore is being distributed to drought affected farmers in Satna district.

Shri Chouhan said that Maihar town will be made most beautiful city in the country and Maihar Vidhan Sabha constituency as Model Constituency. He announced piped water scheme at Naraura, updgradation of middle school to high school at village Bheda, high school from next session and drinking water scheme at Karatha, high school at Amiliya, overhead tank at Bathiya and roads under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana.

The Chief Minister was accorded welcome by people at village Beldara, Lakhanpur, Naraura, Pahadi Bheda, Karatha, Gobariya, Gobri and Bhatigawan Bhatia. Public Relations Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, MP Shri Ganesh Singh, MLAs Shri Harsh Singh, Shri Shankarlal Tiwari and former MLA Shri Narayan Tripathi were also present on the occasion.
