Israeli Jets Hit Two Targets in Gaza Strip, Nobody Injured

Israeli war planes have targeted the Hamas ruled Gaza strip at two places with air-to-ground missiles causing damage but not injuring anybody, said media reports citing Israeli army.

Witnesses said that the missiles targeted the non-functional Gaza Airport, near the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah, reports said.

The airport has been repeated hit since 2000 when it became inoperative.

Also, the Israeli war jet struck Gaza city’s downtown, damaging a commercial area but not injuring anyone, said reports.

In press statement sent to reporters, an Israeli spokesman said that the two aerial attacks were carried out in response to an earlier homemade rocket attack carried out by Gaza gunmen at southern Israel, reports said.

No one had claimed responsibility in Gaza for the attack against the southern Israeli town of Sderout. No injuries or damages were reported, according to Israel Radio.
