Iran Nuke Talks Positive Step: Clinton

Though not sure about its outcome, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Defence Secretary Robert Gates have described nuclear talks with Iran last week as a positive step, but said that it was too early to predict the outcome of the negotiations.

Clinton termed the session in Geneva as “worthwhile meeting”, for the Iran finally agreed to inspections of all its nuclear sites, to to ship low-enriched uranium abroad for processing and to another round of talks later this month.

In a joint interview with Gates to CNN, Clinton said that as the President, she and others had made it clear, this was not by any means a stopping point and there was much more to be done.

She added that “on balance, what came out of the meeting in Geneva was positive”.
