India, Israel Funding Taliban, Alleges Pak Pamphlets: Report

Pamphlets were dropped by Pakistani aircrafts in the lawless North Waziristan region claiming that India, Israel and al-Qaida were providing funds to Taliban fighters, reported PTI.

According to report, the two-page pamphlet showed that Taliban in Pakistan had seven ‘sources of strength’.

The first of these reasons show in the pamphlets was ‘huge funding’ to fighters by India, Israel and al-Qaida, said report.

The pamphlets even went on to allege that Indian consulates in Afghanistan too were supporting the Taliban, said report.

They alleged further that the militants were making large purchases of weapons and explosives with funds obtained from India and Israel, report said.

Allegation further said that terrorists linked with al-Qaida and the RAW and Mossad intelligence agencies too were backing the Taliban, said report.

Report said that smugglers of ‘charas’ and opium and unemployed tribal youth were listed as another alleged source of strength for the militants.
