Five American Soldiers Killed in Southern Afghanistan

In three separate incidents, five US soldiers were killed in riot in Southern Afghanistan, said a statement issued by the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.

The statement said that two ISAF service members were killed and three more died of injuries in three separate events in Southern Afghanistan on September 24.

According to statement, two soldiers were killed and one died of injuries inflicted in an improvised explosive device detonation while one service member died of gunshot injuries inflicted in a terrorist attack, and one one service member died of wounds sustained in an insurgent attack while on patrol.

In the meanwhile, Captain Regina Gillis, a US spokesperson, confirmed that all the deceased service members from the US.

Conflicts and violence have left 365 foreign troopers, including 213 U.S. soldiers, dead so far this year in war-torn Afghanistan.
