India Wins Gold in Commonwealth Shooting Championship

Strengthening India’s dominance in the Commonwealth Shooting Championship, Anisa Sayed and Anurag Singh have won the second gold for the country at the Dr Karni Singh shooting range on Friday, reported the Times of India.

According to report, they won gold in 23m sports Pistol category on the first day of the Championship.

Report said that Gagan Narang and PT Raghunath earlier won gold in the 10m Air Rifle pairs with the scores of 599 and 594 respectively.

It may be mentioned that the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) had named a 43-member Indian squad for the eight edition of the Championship, in which top shooters from 12 countries would participate.

Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, who had been ruled out of the Championship for not attending trials, will miss the event.
