200 youths of denotified, nomadic tribes to be imparted vocational training

Bhopal: Vocational training will be imparted to 200 unemployed educated youths belonging to denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes in the state. Programmes and rules have been chalked out for this. Initially, Rs. 1.50 crore has been provisioned in the departmental budget for skill development.

Concerning collector will select nodal agency for skill development training programme at the district-level. A trainee must be between the age of 18 and 35 years. Training will be imparted in 17 trades. Prominent among them are electrician, computer operator, tailor, tractor technician, driver-cum-mechanic, security guard and food processor. The training will be imparted for minimum 3 moths and maximum 1 year. During the training, selected candidates will be given Rs. 200 stipend. Departmental Secretary has issued directives regarding the training programme in a letter to collectors. They have been asked to start the training programme at the earliest.

Recognition has been granted to 51 denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes in the state
