Be more sensitive towards redressal of people’s problems: CS

Bhopal: Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram has said that officers should be more sensitive towards solving people’s problems and tray to dispose of the problems at the earliest. The officers should also unitedly make efforts to see as to how administrative functioning can be improved further. Shri Parasuram was addressing second session of review of Rewa and Shahdol divisions at Shahdol today.

Shri Parasuram said that more attention should be paid to good governance. Administrative staff needs to remain alert to ensure people’s self-respect. He said that Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act has been implemented for providing services to people at the earliest. This is a novel initiative of the State Government, which is being emulated in other states as well. The Chief Secretary said that efforts are afoot to bring services of more departments under the Act’s purview.

The Chief Secretary informed that houses will be constructed in large number within five kilometer radius of big cities for labourers by Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. At present, there is a proposal to construct 1000 houses each in the suburban areas of 10 municipal corporations. He also sought information from officers about problems being experienced in the scheme’s implementation. He said that the way construction activities are increasing in the state, there is need for more work in skill development sector. He said that after training is completed in 13 skill development centres in Rewa and Shahdol divisions, they can be transferred to other places.

Additional Chief Secretary Panchayats & Rural Development Smt. Aruna Sharma, Secretary Industries Shri T. Dharmarao, Secretary Urban Administration Shri S.N. Mishra also informed about activities of their respective departments. Principal Secretary Tribal Welfare Shri P.C. Meena, Principal Secretary Forests Shri B.P. Singh, Commissioner Tribal Welfare Shri Umakant Umrao, Shahdol Commissioner Shri D.P. Ahirwar, Rewa Commissioner Shri Pradeep Khare, Shahdol IG Shri Vedprakash Sharma, Rewa IG Shri R.I. Gupta, collectors, SPs, CEOs and officers of both the divisions were present on the occasion.
