29 students killed in Nigeria school attack
Abuja: Twenty-nine students and a teacher have been killed by suspected Islamist insurgents who set on fire a government school building in Nigeria’s Yobe state.
“29 students and a teacher, named as Mohammed Musa, were killed,” said an eyewitness.
Military spokesperson Eli Lazarus said no arrests have been made so far.
Members of radical Islamic sect Boko Haram have been carrying out killings in northern Nigeria since 2009 forcing the government to declare state of emergency in three states — Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.
