20 Dead, Score Wounded as Clashes Erupt in Bangkok: Reports

At least 20 people have reportedly been killed and some 800 others sustained wounds as bloody clashes between opposition protesters and security forces erupted in the Thai capital of Bangkok.

The Thai government has denied allegations that soldiers fired live bullets into the crowds.

The clashes erupted when security forces moved into the old quarter of Bangkok to disperse the red shirt supporters of exiled former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
