Italian PM on Ranveer-Deepika wedding: Who doesn’t want to get married in Lake Como?
Gone are those days when Bollywood was besotted by the picturesque Switzerland, as they have now found their new love in Italy. From picturesque Lake Como to the breathtaking Tuscany, Bollywood couples are opting for the most stunning locales in Italy as be the perfect venue for their weddings.
If Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli chose Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany for their fairytale wedding in December 2017, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are set to tie the knot at Lake Como in Italy on November 14 and 15.
Ranveer and Deepika have reportedly zeroed in on the breathtaking Villa del Balbianello as their venue for the lavish wedding. The 18th century mansion has been a favourite with filmmakers. But it is for the first time that a Bollywood couple will tie the knot at the stunning locale.
In an exclusive interview with India Today Television’s Geeta Mohan, Italian PM Giuseppe Conte opened up on Italy becoming a favourite destination for celebrity weddings from India.
Conte said, “Italy has always been an extraordinary destination. Think about the Grand Tour, extremely popular throughout the 18th century. Our millenary culture, the sense of hospitality, the breath-taking landscapes, fashion, design, cinema and gastronomy are just a few of the factors so powerful to magnetise and entertain the visitors from across the world.”
He added, “I am quite sure that also the Bollywood celebs share my thoughts and just fell in love with our countryside villages so rich in traditions. Our unique and vivid cities made even more precious by the warmth and welcoming smiles of the locals and our mountains, so similar to the Himalayan range. So, who doesn’t want to celebrate one of the best days in life in such a heavenly scenario?”
Buzz has it that Deepika and Ranveer will exchange garlands in Lake Como in the presence of family and close friends. Later, the couple will host two wedding receptions – one in Bengaluru and the other in Mumbai.
