‘World needs to follow Lord jesus’s message of peace’
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that world needs to follow Lord Jesus’ message of peace, love, mercy and compassion. He said that life of Lord Jesus inspires to follow path of human welfare and truth. Shri Chouhan said that discrimination of religion and caste will have to be eradicated for welfare of the state. He was addressing a function held to mark Christmas festival at his official residence here today. It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister has taken initiative to celebrate festivals of all the religions at his residence in keeping with the spirit of respect to all religions. Representatives of all the communities have lauded this initiative.
Referring to the State Government’s welfare schemes, Shri Chouhan said that Wellington Church of Tamil Nadu and church situated in Goa have also been included in Mukhyamantri Teerth-Darshan Yojna.
Christian community lauded Chief Minister: On behalf of Christian community, Fr. Leo Carnalio read out a citation in honour of the Chief Minister. The Christian community also announced to give the title of Most Reverend to the Chief Minister. In the citation on behalf of Christian community, Chief Minister’s initiative to observe Christmas has been lauded. It said that this tradition has been started as a part of respect to all religions, which is vital for peace and prosperity of the state. Citation on behalf of Christian community was presented to the Chief Minister by Fr. Leo Carnelio and Minorities Commission Chairman Shri Anwar Khan. Fr. Solomon read out psalms in praise of Lord Jesus.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan felicitated bishops from Jabalpur, Ujjain, Sagar, Indore and other districts. Bishops from all over the state and large number of Christian community members attended the event. Representatives of various religions including Gyani Dilip Singh, Qazi Amanullah, Bhante of Buddhism were specially present on the occasion.
