Uma Accompanies Advani to Chh’garh, Triggers Speculation about Return to BJP

Senior BJP leader LK Advani has taken expelled party leader Uma Bharati on a special plane to Chhattisgarh, triggering speculation that she could be back in party anytime soon, said media reports.

The two leaders are scheduled to attend a function to honour chief minister Raman Singh’s father, reports said.

Bharti was first suspended from the BJP in November 2004 for her outburst against Advani in front of TV cameras and later again in 2005 for rebelling against MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. She floated her own party but couldn’t do well in elections.

The BJP has recently indicated that it plans to take back Darjeeling MP Jaswant Singh, who was expelled from the party for writing a biography praising Pakistan’s founder MA Jinnah.

Bharti taking a flight along with Advani has sparked speculation that she is returning to the BJP.
