On second day of 72-hour shutdown called by them in four states, Maoists have blown up two railway tracks in Jharkhand, reported ANI.

According to report, rebels detonated the railway track in Bhalulata in Sundargarh on the Orissa-Jharkhand border on Sunday.

The explosive was planted under a compartment of a goods train and the blast caused derailment, said reports.

However, the bomb squad detected and defused another explosive that was planted on the Up-line tracks early on Monday morning, said report.

Following the accident, nearly eight pairs of express and mail trains and a large number of freight trains were cancelled, said reports.

Reports said that rebels also exploded a meter of the track in the Kiul-Jamalpur-Bhagalpur section in Bihar, thereby targeting the Howrah-Delhi route for the second consecutive day.
