Two Pakistani Infiltrators Killed, Fake Currency Notes Recovered

BSF jawans shot dead two Pakistani infiltrators at a village near the border in Punjab and seized fake Indian currency with a face value of Rs 65 lakh, reported PTI quoting officials.

Officials said that the two intruded into the Indian territory in the border village of Naushera Dhalla and reached close the barbed wire fencing at almost midnight, said report.

Jawans asked them to surrender, however, they attempted to run away prompting BSP personnel to open fire, report said.

In a search operation carried out later in the area, BSF jawans recovered the fake currency notes in the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 1000, report said.

Officials said that Inspector General of BSF Himmat Singh will look into as to how the two Pakistanis managed to cross over to Indian territory.
