Two Militants Killed, One Jawan Injured in J&K

Two terrorists of group Jaish-e-Mohammad have been killed and an Army jawan has been injured in an overnight encounter between security forces and militants in Sopore, said media reports citing police.

The gunfight began at Lalid-Sopore in the course of a search operation on Monday evening, reports said.

In the fight, two militants were killed and one army jawan injured and the gunbattle was on till last report came in.

On Monday, security forces had killed four militants, believed to be foreigners, in the dense Hamam-Nardagan forests in Rafiabad, 65 km from Srinagar. An Army jawan was injured in the gunbattle.

Identity of the slain militants and their group affiliation was being ascertained. Four AK 47 rifles, a UBGL (under barrel grenade launcher) and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
