Three Test Positive for Swine Flu in Chhattisgarh

Touching off concerns in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh on Monday confirmed the presence of the H1N1 virus in at least three people in the state.
With National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), New Delhi, confirming the cases Chhattisgarh has become the latest target of swine flu in the country.
The number of suspected swine flu cases in Madhya Pradesh has risen to 66,however, there is no confirmed case so far, said officials. "So far 66 samples have been sent from the medical colleges in five cities -- Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Rewa -- to laboratories in Pune and Delhi for tests. They include 19 from Bhopal, 16 from Indore, 29 from Jabalpur and two from Rewa," state's deputy director of health C.B. Solanki, who is supervising the swine flu control room at the JP hospital in Bhopal, said.
Three of the 93 cases sent to NICD have tested positive, say health department officials while adding that none of those testing positive were in danger and that they were undergoing treatment.
The state has sent samples of 93 suspected swine flu cases to NICD of which 36 results have been received.
The pandemic has not claimed any life so far in the state.
