Baghel seeks people’s help to achieve 100 percent literacy

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday appealed people to contribute in achieving the goal of 100 percent literacy in Chhattisgarh.

While addressing people through his monthly radio talk programme ‘Lokvaani’ aired on the occasion of International Literacy Day, Baghel said that under Chief Minister Urban Functional Literacy Programme, digital literacy would be promoted among the age group 14-60 years.

Chief Minister heaped praise on teachers and said that teachers play an important role in building the future of new generation. He said that under Right to Education, education up to 12th standard has been made free.

Talking about the State Government’s decision to provide reservation of 27 percent to OBC, 13 percent to Scheduled Castes, 32 percent to Scheduled Tribes and 10 percent to economically weaker families, Baghel said that Rs Rs 82 percent reservation in Chhattisgarh will prove to be an important step towards achieving the goal of social justice’’

Chief Minister announced that the process of regular recruitment of teachers has been started in the state and about 1500 professors are being recruited in colleges.

In his address to youngsters, Baghel stated, Rs Rs encouraging and promoting entrepreneurship among youth is our top-priority. Soon, major campaigns would be launched for socio-economic development with participation of youth. Talent, hard work and passion of youngsters would ensure success of this campaign. A support system would be developed in the state for youth so that they can avail skill development facilities’’.
