Thackeray Accuses Cong of Trying to Divide Maharashtra People

In an indirect attack to alienated nephew Raj Thackeray, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has said that Congress is making attempts to divide Marathi people taking someone’s help.

In response to a query on allegations that Sena tickets for the Maharashtra assembly elections were sold, Thackeray said, “who is levelling these allegations. Such a thing won’t happen at least in Shiv Sena. If at all someone `buys’ ticket and people come to know, they will not elect him.”

In an interview published in his party’s mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, Thackeray, without naming Raj, said, “Congress is trying to divide Marathi people by taking some one’s help. Why do you trust them?”

Blaming people for electing Congress-led governments again and again, the 83-year old Shiv Sena chief said, “you know Congress is bad, but still you vote for that party.”
