Ten ISAF Soldiers Killed in Separate Attacks in Afghanistan

As many as 10 soldiers belonging to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) have been killed in separate attacks in Afghanistan, said media reports.
A statement from the alliance said that five ISAF service members were killed in an improvised bomb blast in the east of the country, reports said.
Besides, another five ISAF soldiers were killed in separate attacks in country’s south, where the alliance forces were battling against the Taliban militants, said reports.
Zalmai Ayoubi, spokesman for the provincial governor said that a suicide bomber attacked a police training centre with his explosive-laden vehicle in the southern city of Kandahar on Monday, reports said.
Two more bombers entered the compounds a short while later but were killed by security forces, said reports.
He said that only three policemen were injured in the attack; however, the US embassy in Kabul issued a statement saying that two people, including a US national, were killed, reports said.
The nationality of the other person killed was not revealed.
ISAF does not release the identity of killed soldiers.
According to residents, explosions and gunfire could be heard coming from the training camp, located near Kandahar’s airfield, the main US and NATO military base in the region, reports said.
Taliban spokesman Qari Yousif Ahmadi claimed that five Taliban fighters armed with automatic weapons and suicide vests entered the training centre and killed several Afghan and foreign soldiers, said reports.
Meanwhile, three civilians were killed and 12 other people, including civilians and police officers, were injured in two roadside bombings in southern Afghanistan, a local official said.
