Back to the Basics: Stung by a huge exodus of its minority vote banks in the heartland, the Samajwadi Party on Thursday cast aspersions over the Congress while demanding that the Liberhan Commission report be tabled in parliament during the current session.

“The report of Liberhan Commission, constituted 17 years ago, is yet to become public. Is the report not being presented because it also puts Congress in the dock apart from holding BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani, Kalyan Singh and Uma Bharti for the incident,” SP general secretary Amar Singh was quoted as saying outside Parliament on the opening day of the winter session.

He said House proceedings would be disrupted if the report was not tabled during the current session.

Singh also demanded that the RN Mishra Commission report be tabled during the session, the report involves measures to improve the condition of minorities.
