Sushma Swaraj Slams Liberhan Report

Top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Vidisha MP, Sushma Swaraj, on Tuesday condemned the Liberhan Commission report on the Babri Masjid demolition, describing it as politically motivated and baseless.

Swaraj lamented that the commission took 17 years to file the report as against the initial three months allotted to it for the purpose.

Expressing shock over the inclusion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the report, Swaraj said that the commission has wrongly blamed the BJP leader.

While conveying her surprise at the report’s failure to mention Narsimha Rao, who was the prime minister when at the time of the incident, in the report, Swaraj said that the report had failed to prove that Babri demolition was pre-planned.
