State Government to Spend Rs. 86 Thousand Crore in 5 Years for Development of Cities

Bhopal. The programme organized in the entire state under the Nagar Uday Abhiyan is such a first and foremost programme of the world in which 12 lakh 68 thousand 480 beneficiaries are being benefited at one time on single day. This was said by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the State level programme held at Garrison ground of Jabalpur today. CM Shri Chouhan said that the development of the entire state is the resolution of the government. To cherish this, the state government will spend Rs. 86 thousand crore in next 5 years on development of cities. He termed the public as an utmost important link for development. Shri Chouhan said that this campaign is being conducted to prepare a lay out of development by holding conversation with people in their wards and at their homes itself and to avoid public wandering around for development works.

CM Shri Chouhan further mentioned that our objective is to establish Madhya Pradesh on the world list by making the state prosperous, developed, grand and dignified. He mentioned that Madhya Pradesh is his temple. Public is Lord and the Pujari is Shrivraj Singh Chouhan. Before this, Shri Chouhan performed bhoomi poojan and dedicated development works costing Rs. 70 crore. During the state level programme, 85 thousand 303 beneficiaries were benefited including 67 thousand 86 beneficiaries of Jabalpur Urban area.

Cities are Engines of Development

CM Shri Chouhan termed the cities as engines of development. He said that cities are the sources of employment and mirror of development. Thirty percent population of the state resides in 378 cities of the state. Our motto is to provide benefits of the government welfare schemes to each eligible beneficiary of the state, he added.

Ban on Polythene from May 1st in State

CM Shri Chouhan announced to impose ban on use of polythene in the entire state from May 1st , 2017. He said that polythene is the biggest reason for pollution. Shri Chouhan said that alternative to polythene in the form of paper and cloth bags is being prepared. He urged the people for maximum use of these bags on the occasion.

All the Cities will Free from Open Defecation till March 31st

Moreover Shri Chouhan made an announcement to make all the cities of the state free from the curse of open defecation till march 31st . He said that 60 cities were made free of open defecation till today. This is evil and Swachcha Bharat Mission is being conducted against this. He administered pledge to all present on the occasion to quit open defecation and to make their cities clean. He asserted that this abhiyan is being conducted to bring changes in the mindset which cannot be completed without people’s participation.

Clean Potable Water arrangements to Be made in All 378 Cities

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that government is committed to provide clean potable water under Tap Water schemes to all the 378 cities of the state. Potable water arrangements have been ensured in many cities through Tap water Scheme. He further stated that works will be undertaken soon preparing Tap Water schemes for cities which are facing potable water problem.

Sewage System to be constructed in all Cities

CM Shri Chouhan mentioned that no proper sewage system is the biggest problem of the cities. He said that scheme related to sewerage system has been made for 40 cities at present. The sewage water will be treated in the treatment plants and will be supplied to gardens through pipelines. The sewage water will be stopped in getting released into rivers. The state government will take step to construct sewage system in all the cities of the state.

2100 Buses will be Plied in 20 Cities

CM Shri Chouhan informed about the steps taken by the state government in order to make better transport arrangement in the entire state under the State level Nagar Uday Campaign. He said that arrangement of 2100 buses at the cost of Rs. 45 crore is being made for 20 cities. This will improve the transport system of the cities.

Each Citizen of State will Own House, Law will be Made in Budget Session

CM Shri Chouhan said that each citizen residing in Madhya Pradesh will be made owner of land. Law will be enacted by the state government in the coming budget session. All the people residing in the state will have their own land. Madhya Pradesh will be the first state in the country to enact this law. Needy citizens will be provided land rights deed or house. He also mentioned for construction of 5 lakh houses in urban areas during next two years.

Fee of talented students for Higher Education to be Borne by State Government

CM Shri Chouhan stated that fee of the talented students who secure 85 percent marks in 12th examination and getting selected I.I.T., I.I.M, Medical, Engineering for higher education even nursing education will be borne by the state government. Shri Chouhan said that interest free loan will be provided to the students who secure less than 85 percent marks on getting admissions in premium institutions for higher education. The loan recovery will be made after the employment.

E-Rickshaw will be Provided in place of Cycle Raickshaw

CM Shri Chouhan gave a big gift to the Cycle rickshaw pullers. He said that the state government will provide e-richshaws to cycle rickshaw pullers soon.

Building Permission to be Provided Online

Shri Chouhan said that citizens will not have to wander around civic bodies for building permission. He mentioned that convenient online arrangements are being implemented by the Urban Development department to bring transparency and to pass house lay out. This will facilitate applicants to get their house lay out passed without wandering around.

Urban Bodies will get Rid of In Charge Officers Soon

CM Shri Chouahn said that Civic Urban bodies will soon get rid of in charge officers. An action plan has been prepared for this. New C.M.O. and Sub Engineers are being recruited to ensure quality in works. Moreover, this will be able to carry out development works taking instant decisions.

Hold Dialogues with Beneficiaries of Indore, Bhopal and Ujain Directly

CM Shri Chouhan held dialogues with beneficiaries of Indore, Bhopal and Ujjain directly through online video conferencing. He also apprised himself about the programmes from the Mayors of Ujjain, Bhopal and Indore. Priti Ahirwar of Jabalpur expressed her views before the Chief Minister.

Congratulating Jabalpur Municipal Corporation for producing electricity from solid waste management, Shri Chouhan lauded the work. He said that Deendayal Thali will be started in 5 cities of the state. Full Meal at the rate of Rs. 5 will be provided to the needy. He also appealed to the people to participate in ‘Mil Banche Madhya Pradesh’ campaign.

Furthermore, Shri Chouhan informed that loan up to Rs. One crore were provided earlier under the Mukhyamantri Udhyami Yojna. Fifteen percent subsidy is provided by the state government. Now the state government will provide loan from Rs. 10 lakh to 2 crore under the scheme.
