India has warned the Australian government over continued attacks on Indian students in Melbourne and complained that there is lack of official data on the nature of the violence against Indians, said media reports.

“We would expect the State government to actually share that data with us,” Union Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal, presently on visit to Australia, was quoted as saying.

“Though the incidents have been on the decline, they still continue to happen, and this is a matter of deep, deep concern to us,” he added.
