Ruchika Case: Rathore Moves Review Petition, Seeks Bail

Former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore, who was yesterday sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment in Ruchika molestation case, has moved a review petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking bail, said media reports.
Senior advocate Abha, Rathore’s wife, filed the review plea at his behest in the court of Justice SS Saron, reports said.
She alleged that the Tuesday’s order enhancing Rathore’s punishment was passed ‘under media pressure’ by the appellate court, said reports.
Rathore was yesterday taken into custody as a sessions court enhanced his prison term to 18 months for molesting Ruchika Girhotra, a budding tennis player, who later committed suicide.
Abha also apprised the court about Rathore’s heart ailment while seeking bail, reports said.
The judge is likely to hear the petition later in the day.
